Welcome to Dahlonega healing Herds Sanctuary.
Our mission is to specialize and to provide a permanent home on our 10 acre facility with food, shelter, veterinarian and farrier care for unwanted and abused donkeys. We strive to provide public education, rehabilitation, training and adoption programs for all current and future donkeys! We also invite the community to educational classes, various therapy programs, and social events with our donkeys.
My name is Lorraine and I am one of the donkey trainers and assistants here at Dahlonega Healing Herd Sanctuary.
Take a hike on our beautiful scenic mountain trail where you can pose for pictures, and interact with a donkey while enjoying the unforgettable breathtaking views. The moderate trail walk takes about 45 minutes to an hour.
Our donkeys are social, quirky and enjoy interaction with people. Your visit will include a tour of our sanctuary and this will allow plenty of time for pictures and hands on interaction with our donkeys.
We now offer scheduled group hikes on weekends at 2:00pm and 5:30pm.
$20 covers the cost of the entrance to the sanctuary for a family of four. Treats are available to feed the donkeys or you can bring your own apples and carrots preferred
Stop by with your family or friends and join us to cuddle, brush, and feed or donkeys. A family of four is only $20 entry fee. All proceeds go to the sanctuary as we are a 501c3 non-profit
